“Director Chris Columbus, along with others, encouraged me for a cameo in ‘Home Alone 2’,” Trump stated. “They utilized the Plaza Hotel, which I owned then. I was occupied and hesitant initially. However, they persisted, and I eventually agreed, leading to its memorable moment!”
“That brief appearance gained immense popularity, especially during the holiday season,” he remarked. “I receive calls whenever the movie is broadcast.”
Columbus shared with Business Insider that apart from the usual filming costs, Trump had conditions related to his cameo for them to use the Plaza. “He ensured his role in the film,” Columbus mentioned.
“This narrative doesn’t align with reality,” Trump responded. “If my appearance wasn’t valued, why did they retain it for over three decades? They included me because I added value to the film. It seems like another individual seeking attention by associating with Trump’s legacy!”
