Robach and Holmes on Sharing Their Relationship Publicly

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes discuss their pre-planned intention to publicly address their relationship before its revelation.
The ex-“GMA3” hosts revealed their prepared statements regarding their upcoming divorces during the recent installment of their newly launched podcast, “Amy & T.J. Podcast.”
During the podcast episode released on Thursday, the duo addressed inquiries from their listeners. This included addressing a query about their decision not to refute rumors of an affair when their relationship initially became public.
In December 2022, both Robach, aged 50, and Holmes, aged 46, faced consequences in their television hosting roles following the release by the Daily Mail of videos and images showing the married anchors together, including moments of physical contact.
While the pair asserts that their individual marriages were on the brink of ending, they chose not to address the accusations publicly to prevent further intensification of the situation.

“Perhaps addressing the situation upfront would have been wiser,” remarked Robach. “However, our primary goal was to retain our positions. We had already prepared press statements for release that very day.”
Holmes disclosed that both of their statements, prepared on November 30, 2022, coincided with the date the Daily Mail images became public.

Holmes recited from Robach’s drafted statement, stating, “My divorce is nearing its conclusion following our decision to separate. T.J. and I have shared a longstanding friendship, and our bond deepened only recently. I urge everyone to respect our privacy as my family continues its healing journey.”
He then shared his own prepared statement: “Following a separation spanning a month, I’m nearing the end of a challenging divorce process that I’ve aimed to keep private for my family’s sake. Throughout this difficult period, I’ve found solace in a close friend, and our relationship has recently evolved. I kindly ask for understanding and privacy for the sake of my family.”
The duo has candidly discussed their relationship and the repercussions of the controversy on their recently launched podcast. In their latest episode, they addressed an inquiry from a listener regarding the possibility of them getting married.
“We’re seriously considering it,” Robach shared. “Our relationship wasn’t founded on a whim or mere curiosity. We came together with the genuine intent of building a life together.”
However, the prospect of marriage isn’t immediate for them.
“We both have experienced multiple marriages, so it’s not a step we’re hastily taking,” she elaborated. “Yet, there’s an undeniable feeling. I can’t quite put it into words, but the desire to spend our futures together is evident. It’s a genuine consideration for us.”

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes: Relationship Progression and ‘GMA3’ Aftermath

Holmes and Robach’s relationship gained significant attention last December after the Daily Mail released videos and images showing the two married anchors in intimate moments.
Following this, ABC temporarily removed Robach and Holmes from their roles on the afternoon news program, citing the controversy as a “distraction.” By January, the network had officially parted ways with the duo. By May, replacements for Holmes and Robach were announced.

In December of the previous year, Holmes initiated divorce proceedings from his then-wife, Marilee Fiebig, 46, an immigration attorney, in New York, culminating a 13-year marital relationship, as indicated by legal documents. By October, both Us Weekly and the Los Angeles Times reported that Holmes and Fiebig had finalized their divorce settlement.

Following this, Fiebig conveyed her sentiments through her attorney, Stephanie Lehman, expressing disappointment with Holmes’s perceived lack of discretion and consideration towards both her and their 10-year-old daughter. The couple had tied the knot in March 2010. Additionally, Holmes has two children from his earlier marriage to Amy Ferson.
Meanwhile, Robach exchanged vows with “Melrose Place” actor Andrew Shue in 2010. They decided to list their New York City residence for sale the previous September.
