I feel honored to have known you, shared laughter, worked alongside you, and spent 8 wonderful years witnessing your irreplaceable talent,” expressed Crews in an Instagram post on Tuesday. Crews, who portrayed Lt. Terry Jeffords, Braugher’s precinct colleague on “Nine-Nine,” shared these sentiments.

“This is painful. You departed too soon, and you taught me so much. I will always be thankful for the privilege of knowing you,” added Crews. “Thank you for your wisdom, guidance, kindness, and friendship. My heartfelt condolences to your wife and family during this challenging time. You exemplified what a well-lived life entails. Rest in peace, Andre. I love you, man.”

The social media accounts for “Nine-Nine” also paid tribute to Braugher. In the caption, they wrote, “Always our Captain. We love you, Andre.”

Shonda Rhimes remembers Andre Braugher as a ‘warm and kind soul’

Shonda Rhimes, the showrunner for “Grey’s Anatomy,” honored Braugher for his philanthropy.” I grieve not only for the loss of an exceptional actor but, more deeply, for the departure of a warm and kind soul. His talent was unquestionable, but it was his authentic kindness that truly distinguished him. Rest well,” Rhimes posted on Instagram.

“A hero in every way”: Jimmy Kimmel and ‘One Day at a Time’ stars pay tribute to TV legend Norman Lear.

Prentice Penny, the showrunner for “Insecure” and an executive producer for “Nine-Nine,” shared cherished memories with Braugher on social media. These moments included times on set with Crews. “(Braugher) was so warm with us, and then when a white person would walk by, he’d look serious again. He then leaned in and said ‘Gotta keep ’em on their toes,'” Penny shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Actor Josh Lucas fondly reminisces about André Braugher.

André Braugher’s “Poseidon” co-star, Josh Lucas, posted a photo of them at the Hollywood premiere of their 2006 film on Instagram. In the caption, Lucas recalled Braugher’s “beyond memorable” performance in Shakespeare in the Park.

‘Hollywood legend’: Ryan O’Neal, Oscar-nominated actor known for ‘Love Story,’ passes away at 82.

“It was an early preview, and towards the end, during his monologue as Henry V, he just stopped. Dead stop. Silence. He put his head down, and clearly, we all realized he had forgotten his lines,” Lucas wrote. “The pause lasted what seemed like an eternity, and then, like lightning, he whipped his head up and exploded with greatness, word-perfect. It was a performance I will always remember. He was an actor and a man I deeply respect,” Lucas expressed.

Sheryl Lee Ralph, a star on “Abbott Elementary,” expressed on X that the news of Braugher’s death “really shook me.” She added, “RIP Andre!”
